Stop the Violence!

There is a great need and urgency to stop the violence, especially in our schools. In 2007 Rev. Delores M. Roberts of Zoe Life Ministries Community Outreach Program started a campaign to stop violence in schools. This campaign is the result of randomly interviewing over 400 teens about violence in their schools in Prince Georges County, Maryland.

In the 2009-2010 school year, Rev. Roberts joined in partnership with Mr. Gorman Brown, principal of Walker Mill Middle School and organized the Stop the Violence, Choice not Chance” Teen Summit. The summit is design to inform, inspire, and empower teens and young people to make responsible choices, change their attitudes, to enable them to turn away from violence and violent behavior.

Stop the Violence T-Shirt Exhibit

Prince Georges Sports & Learning ComplexMarch 14 – May 30, 2011

This school year, 2010-2011, the Stop the Violence Campaign focus is BULLYING. This Tee Shirt Exhibit is one of the activities we used as a means to allow the students to express themselves and design tee shirts through artistic expression. Their engagement in this process allowed them to begin positive dialogue and collective teamwork. The teachers Miss Linice Jackson, Ms. Jennifer Roberts and Ms. Angelia Hein are to be commended for their time and support in this effort. It is our hope that all who view this exhibit will be empowered and inspired to tell your peers, classmates, parents, public officials, and the community that there is No Violence in Education. Enough is Enough, we are committed to our goal: “Stop the Violence, Choice not Chance
