About the Play
The culmination of over two years hard work, “The Day of Reckoning” is a moving drama about David, a high school student facing difficult choices. David is played by Thuliso Dingwall, star of “The Wire” and “Law & Order” who has also appeared recently on “The Unforgettables.”
Written and directed by Rev. Delores Roberts, the play takes an in-depth look at everyday life of teenagers during school hours, and a mother who did not give up on her son. It explores the lives of teens challenged by the demands of school, home and life. The daily temptations of peer pressure, bullying, gangs, violence and drugs are intense. Will David make the best choice?
“The Day of Reckoning” is based on an essay by Darrien Newman, a young man who won First Place in the 2009 Zoe Life Ministries essay contest. Says writer/director Rev. Roberts: “Our auditions for this play have produced some extraordinarily talented young people, all of whom have committed themselves over the past year to excellence in the performing arts. ”
