About Reverend Roberts

Reverend Roberts is a dynamic educator with great energy and compassion, especially for young people. The projects she organized and produced are the Zoe Gospel Kids Book Club, Zoe Care preschool, Gospel Kids and Teens Theater Group and Performing Arts Program, I-Read literacy initiative and the Stop the Violence Peace Campaign.
Reverend Delores M. Roberts is a native Washingtonian, wife, mother and grandmother. As a Prince Georgian for forty years, she retired from the Department of Human Services where she served as a social worker for over 30 years. Now Pastor of Zoe Missionary Church, she holds a masters degree in Human Services from Lincoln University and a Masters Degree in Religious Education from Maple Springs Bible College and Seminary. She is a member of Women of Prayer, Ministers in Partnership, Council of Women Ministers of Greater Washington of Council of Churches of Washington, DC. She is the author of several books and an inventor of educational games as well.
She has received many awards for outstanding leadership in community service. Howard University’s Department of Urban Affairs recognized her as one of our Outstanding Women of Washington Metropolitan area for her work with young people.In 1989 her testimony before the House and Senate select committee on Aging was vital to the passing of legislation to protect senior citizens in Washington DC. Rev. Roberts has developed and implemented many projects and programs including Project Smart Start, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, Family Olympics, City-wide Youth Conference, the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Learning Center, the Stop the Violence Campaign.
